Harrilchak, Reyes Named to All-Star Team

ROCHESTER, Minn. – Rising senior Cory Harrilchak and rising sophomore Jimmy Reyes have been named to the 2008 Northwoods League All-Star Game that will be played Monday, July 14 at 8:05 p.m. in Madison, Wisc.  This year’s All-Stars were chosen in a vote by the 14 member teams of the Northwoods League.

Harrilchak and Reyes are two of five members from the Mankato MoonDogs selected for this year's game.  The MoonDogs won the North Division title in the first half of the year with a 22-15 record.

Harrilchak made the team as an outfielder after batting .311 with four doubles, two triples, one homer, 22 runs scored and 14 RBI in 28 games.  He is a perfect 6-for-6 in stolen base attempts.  Harrilchak has also been used as a pitcher for Mankato, posting a 2-0 record and 0.60 ERA over 15.0 innings in four games.  He has allowed just one run on nine hits while walking two and striking out 12.

Reyes earned a spot as a pitcher.  The lefty is 2-1 with a 1.03 ERA in six appearances, including five starting assignments.  In 35.0 innings, Reyes has allowed just four runs, walked only eight and fanned 34 hitters.  Opponents are hitting just .181 off of him.

The two-day event, which begins with a fan fest on Sunday afternoon July 13, will conclude with the 2008 Northwoods League All-Star Game.  The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPNU beginning at 8 p.m.
