The Phoenix has also won a season-best eight consecutive games overall and 12 straight at Latham Park.
In the bottom of the second,
Pat Irvine singled and stole second before
Bennett Davis reached on an error.
Justin Hilt's liner to third was knocked down and Irvine was forced out for the second out of the inning.
Dallas Tarleton's two-out double to left plated Davis with the first run of the contest.
Ryan Adams walked on four straight pitches to load the bases. Elon could push no more across, however as
Zeth Stone struck out to end the inning.
Bobby DeLuria walked the first three Phoenix hitters of the third inning, putting
Cory Harrilchak on third,
Chase Austin on second and Irvine on first. Davis lifted a fly ball down the right field line for the first out and Harrilchak was able to tag and score Elon's second run of the game on the sacrifice.
Mike Melillo added three more to the Phoenix's total with a bomb to right, his 13th of the year.
Jake Williams led off the Wofford fourth with a single and went to third on Josh McKinney's one-out double into the left field corner. Williams crossed the plate with the first Terrier run when Robinette lifted a sac fly to left.
Wofford got another back when Michael Gilmartin went deep for the 10th time on the year in the fifth. His solo shot cleared the wall in left-center with two outs.
In the bottom of the inning, Irvine was plunked before Davis went deep for the 13th time of the year. The blast was also the 31st of his career, moving Davis into sole possession of third place on Elon's career list. Melillo followed with a walk and raced to third on a single from
Harry Austin.
Harry Austin took second on the throw to third. Melillo came in with Elon's eighth run on Tarleton's ground out to first. An Adams double to left-center allowed
Harry Austin to score as the Phoenix built a 9-2 lead.
The Phoenix erupted for 12 runs on seven hits, sending 18 hitters to the plate in the sixth. An error and two walks allowed Elon to load the bases with just one out.
Harry Austin then doubled off the wall in center to score both
Chase Austin and Davis. After Tarleton walked to reload the bases, Adams greeted new pitcher Cash Collins with a double off the wall in left-center, scoring both Melillo and
Harry Austin as Elon extended its cushion to 13-2. Pinch-hitter
Neal Pritchard then drew a walk to load the bags back up. The lead grew to 14-2 on Harrilchak's single that plated Tarleton.
Chase Austin cleared the bases with a double to left-center. The Phoenix scored the ninth run of the inning when
Matt Kirchner's infield single scored
Chase Austin.
Harry Austin's bloop single down the left field line brought in two more. When Tarleton was plunked, Elon had the bases juiced again. Elon added another run on a fielder's choice that failed to record an out as Kirchner scored to give the Phoenix a 21-2 lead.
Daniel Britt (6-0) was solid in his six-inning performance on Saturday. The junior scattered seven hits and struck out a career-best nine hitters while walking just three. The Phoenix bullpen of
J.D. Reichenbach and
Daniel LoCastro threw three scoreless innings and allowed just one hit. They did not walk a batter and fanned three.
For Wofford, DeLuria (1-5) was tagged with the loss after surrendering five runs (four earned) on three hits in his three innings. DeLuria was hurt by six walks.
Harry Austin went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a career-best four RBI.
Chase Austin (1-for-4, three runs), Davis (1-for-2, three runs), Melillo (1-for-2, three runs) and Adams (2-for-3, one run) all drove in three for the Phoenix. The homers from Melillo and Davis gave Elon its first-ever 100 home run season in program history.
Harrilchak was 1-for-4 with a walk to extend his streak of reaching base safely to 78 consecutive games. South Florida's Ryan Lockwood went 0-for-4 tonight without a walk or hit-by-pitch, snapping his streak at 87 games.
Robinette recorded a 3-for-3, one-RBI night at the dish for Wofford. Gilmartin had two hits, including his solo homer.
The teams are scheduled to conclude the series at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Prior to the game, Elon will honor its seniors.
