Phoenix to Face UNCG in Women’s Hoops

ELON, N.C. – The Elon women’s basketball team is back in action on Wednesday night when it takes on nearby UNC Greensboro at 7 p.m., in Greensboro, N.C. Both teams are coming off wins over the 2009 Southern Conference Tournament champion Western Carolina. Elon (6-9, 2-5) handed the Catamounts a 59-54 loss last Saturday, picking up its second SoCon win this season. The Phoenix has won two of the last three games against UNCG, including a 54-47 win to close out the 2008-09 regular season.

 Elon Quick Notes
•This is Elon’s final road game before it begins a five-game home stretch that includes four conference games.
• Wednesday’s game marks the 34th time Elon and UNC Greensboro have met on the hardwood. UNCG owns a 20-14 advantage over the Phoenix, however Elon has taken two of the last three games against the Spartans.
Urysla Cotton has scored in double figures in each of the last five games. Cotton has recorded a double-double in four of the last five contests.
• Elon upset the Spartans last season, earning a 54-47 win in the final regular-season game of the season. In the game, Erica Keto pulled down a career-best 17 rebounds, while Julie Taylor scored a career-high 17 points.
