Harrison Earns Tryout With St. Louis Rams

ELON, N.C. -- Elon senior offensive lineman David Harrison has earned an invitation to the St. Louis Rams' minicamp this weekend for a tryout with the National Football League squad.

"I feel blessed to have been given this opportunity," said Harrison.  "Now it is up to me to capitalize on it.  I couldn't ask for a better situation.  Now I have to go perform to the best of my ability.  I look forward to learning as much as I can this weekend."

Harrison was a first-team All-Southern Conference selection by both the Southern Conference coaches and media following Elon's 9-3 campaign in 2009.  He was also a second-team member of The Sports Network FCS All-America Team as well as a honorable mention choice of the College Sporting News FCS Fabulous Fifty All-American Team this year.

"David was a great leader in our program, a four year starter and perhaps the best offensive lineman in the Southern Conference last season," said head coach Pete Lembo.  "His work ethic, dedication and passion for the game are second to none. He has a burning desire to continue his playing career and I am pleased that the Rams are giving him an opportunity to showcase his talents."

During his career with the Phoenix, Harrison started 45 contests.  He picked up first-team All-SoCon accolades and was honored with the squad's Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award in 2008.
