Women’s Basketball "Pack the House" Event Set for Saturday

RSVP on Facebook!

ELON, N.C. –
Be part of Phoenix women's basketball history as Elon aims to sell out Alumni Gym on Saturday, Dec. 3. The Phoenix hosts preseason Southern Conference favorite Chattanooga at 7 p.m. and needs you to help "Pack the House” after the men’s team takes on Navy at 2 p.m. RSVP on Facebook today!

All fans in attendance at Saturday night’s game receive a FREE dinner for Monday’s game when the Phoenix welcomes defending league champion Samford to Alumni Gym for a 7 p.m. tip.

The Phoenix and Lady Mocs have split the season series each of the last two seasons, which included Elon’s first-ever win at UTC last season with a 74-61 victory.

Tickets to the game are $5 for adults and $3 for youth 12 and under and can be purchased online here or by calling the Elon Ticket Office at 336-278-6750. Admission is free for anyone who donates a new or gently used coat to the Allied Churches of Alamance County and SAAC coat drive.

The Phoenix is looking to top its single-game attendance record set last season on February 19 when a record 1,071 fans packed Alumni Gym when Elon hosted Samford.

Universities across the country will be competing in the NCAA’s fifth annual Pack the House competition throughout the season. NCAA member schools will compete against schools in their own conference as well as all Division I schools for a chance to be the 2011 NCAA Women's Basketball Pack the House Challenge Champion and win great prizes. Last year, the Marist women’s basketball team won the Pack the House competition, while Samford captured the SoCon’s Pack the House title.

The Elon women’s basketball team is coming off a record-setting 2010-11 season where the Phoenix won 20 games and made the program’s first postseason appearance at the Division I level. Elon also set a program record for home attendance last season en route to 11 victories in Alumni Gym, also a program record at the Division I level.
