ELON, N.C. -- Elon shortstop Neal Pritchard and relief pitcher John Brebbia were both named to the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association's (NCCSIA) University Division All-State Team on Wednesday.

Pritchard was a second-team All-SoCon pick in 2011.  In his senior season, the Asheboro, N.C. native hit .295 with eight doubles, a triple, eight homers and 39 RBI for the SoCon regular season champion Phoenix.  Against league competition, the Asheboro, N.C. native batted .340 with five doubles, one triple, six home runs and 27 RBI.  This is the second year in a row that Pritchard has earned all-state honors.

Brebbia was the 2011 SoCon Pitcher of the Year and first-team all-league pick after he went 7-1 with three saves and a 1.76 ERA in 27 relief appearances.  The Chatham, Mass. native allowed just eight walks while fanning 35 in 41.0 innings.  Opponents batted just .171 off of the 2011 30th-round pick of the New York Yankees.  Brebbia was the lone unanimous selection on the 12-member team.

Founded in 2002, NCCSIA is comprised of sports information professionals from North Carolina’s NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions for the purpose of promoting college athletics in the state. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina whose responsibilities include sports information.

The eighth-annual team consists of NCAA Division I student-athletes from North Carolina colleges and universities.  North Carolina sports information professionals submitted the nominees and NCCSIA members voted for the All-State team.
