Budget Bonus Graph
ELON, N.C. - This year's Budget Bonus Challenge has come to a close and the winner is men's cross country with 53.09 percent of it's former athletes making gifts to the Phoenix Club. The team will earn an extra $5,000 to its budget for the 2013-14 season.
Women's soccer finished second with gifts from 44.06 of its former players, followed closely by men's tennis with 43.65 percent. Women's soccer will receive $3,000, while men's tennis earned $2,000 with its finish.
Overall, 17.51 percent of former Elon student-athletes gave monetary gifts during the 2012-13 fiscal year. All gifts made by former student-athletes to Elon Athletics by May 31 counted toward the Budget Bonus Challenge. The three sports with the highest percentage of former student-athlete giving earned a portion of the $10,000 donation from Mike and Mary Ellen Cross in its budget.
