Series History
Elon and Radford will meet for the 17th time in a series that dates back to 1998 with RU holding a 9-5-2 all-time advantage. The Phoenix and the Highlanders battled to a 1-1 draw in last year's contest, but Elon had won three of the past four meetings prior.

Last Time Out
Elon suffered its first defeat of 2013 at the hands of William & Mary on Friday, Sept. 20. The maroon and gold fell to the Tribe, 1-0, in double overtime after allowing the golden goal in the 108th minute of the match, snapping the Phoenix's six-match season-opening unbeaten streak. It was also the Phoenix's first regular-season loss since a 3-2 setback to College of Charleston last October.

Scouting Elon
Despite the loss on Friday, Elon is still off to its best start since 2006 at 5-1-1. The Phoenix is outscoring opponents 13-6 in the young season and is second in the Southern Conference in fewest goals allowed (six) and GAA (0.79).

The Phoenix remained at No. 23 in the latest College Soccer News National Poll on Monday and entered Soccer America's Top 25 poll this week at No. 25. Tuesday's win against then No. 9 Wake Forest was also the fifth regular-season win for the program against a ranked opponent in the past two seasons.

Junior striker Jason Waterman leads the team with four scores on the year along with 10 points followed by James Brace and his three goals. Senior midfielder Matt Wescoe has tallied a team-best four assists with Waterman and Cauê Da Silva next up with two each.

Elon will look to earn its 300th win as a program on Wednesday after picking up victory No. 299 last Tuesday against the Demon Deacons.

Scouting Radford
The Highlanders are 3-2-1 on the season after earning a 2-0 victory against Howard on Sunday, Sept. 22, at the UNC Ashville Invitational. RU is unbeaten in four of its last five matches, including a 4-2 win over SoCon opponent Appalachian State, and is scoring 1.83 goals per match on 13.3 shots per game.

Senior midfielder Joe Mayer paces the Highlanders offensively with 12 points on five goals and two assists. Jamie Summers (seven points) and Dario Redondo (three points) are tied for the team-lead in assists with three. Keeper Dane Wilson has started all six games for RU this year and has a GAA of 1.61.

Head coach Marc Reeves is in his fourth season at the helm of the Radford men's soccer program after guiding them to a second consecutive winning season (10-6-4) in 2012.

On the Horizon
Elon will travel to High Point for its first true road contest of the season against the Panthers on Saturday, Sept. 28. That match is slated for a 7 p.m. start.
