ELON, N.C. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its first national rankings of 2014 today, Jan. 2, and the Elon University men's tennis program came in at No. 64, while senior Cameron Silverman earned a No. 25 singles ranking.
 
Elon won the 2013 Southern Conference regular season title last season, finishing the year with a national ranking of No. 64 and an overall record of 17-8 (8-2 SoCon).
 
The 2013 Southern Conference Player of the Year, Silverman led the Phoenix to the Southern Conference regular season title last season. Silverman finished last season 14-8 in singles action, posting a 6-2 mark against league competition. He was named the SoCon Player of the Month in February and was ranked as high as 21st nationally. Silverman had an impressive fall season for Elon, going 14-2 in singles play.
 
Elon begins its 2014 season on Jan. 10-12 in Raleigh, N.C., for the NC State Invitational.
