Brown to Represent Elon in FCS Senior Scout Bowl

ELON, N.C. – Elon wide receiver Kierre Brown will don his Phoenix helmet one last time as he suits up in the 2014 FCS Senior Scout Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 20 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Brown is the third Elon player to participate in the FCS Senior Scout Bowl, joining wide receiver Sean Jeffcoat and offensive lineman John Rubertone who both played in the 2010 contest.

The 2014 game will be played at 7:30 p.m. at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C. On average, more than a dozen scouts attend this contest and nearly a third of the participating players sign with NFL squads.

Brown, a native of Charlotte, N.C., earned third-team honors following his senior campaign. Brown led the Phoenix with 57 receptions, 686 receiving yards and four touchdown catches in 2014. He ranked eighth in the league with 4.8 receptions per game and ninth in the conference with 57.2 receiving yards per game. Against #3 Coastal Carolina, Brown caught five passes for a career-best 125 yards. He added a personal-best 13 receptions for 81 yards and two touchdowns in a victory over Charlotte. In his career, Brown caught 166 passes for 1,977 yards and 12 touchdowns. Brown ended the season sitting fifth on the program's all-time chart in both receptions and receiving yards. As a kick returner, Brown set an Elon record with 2,479 career return yards. His 4,794 career all purpose yards rate fourth in program history.
