ELON, N.C. – The Elon University men's tennis team plays its final home match of the season this Saturday, April 3, when the Phoenix hosts Charlotte on Senior Day at 1 p.m. at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.

Prior to the match, Elon's six seniors –

Jordan Kaufman,
Juan Madrid,
Christopher Geaslen and
Dan Sablik – will be recognized.

Charlotte (15-2) is currently riding an 11-match win streak. The 49ers only losses this season came against 20
th-ranked Wake Forest and fourth-ranked Duke. Jordi Massallé Ferrer holds a perfect singles record of 16-0 while Kamil Khalil is 10-1 at the No. 2, 3 and 4 singles positions.

Elon has won each of the last five matches against Charlotte dating back to 2006, with the last win coming in 2010.

LOOKING BACK:Â Elon improved to 8-10 with a 4-3 win against Davidson on April 2, the team's third straight match decided by that margin. The Phoenix has now won three of its last four matches.

LOOKING AHEAD:Â The Phoenix will play its final two regular season matches on the road prior to heading to Williamsburg, Va., for the Colonial Athletic Association tournament. Elon will face UNC Greensboro on April 8 before traveling east to take on East Carolina on April 11.

KAUFMAN HONORED:Â
Jordan Kaufman collected the team's third weekly honor of the season on March 31, as the senior was named Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week. Kaufman clinched Elon's win at College of Charleston with a three-set triumph over Brice Allanic and has won four straight singles matches.

HOME COOKING: The Phoenix has enjoyed much success at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center in recent years. Elon is 6-2 at home this season and 13-3 over the past two seasons.

GIVING BACK:Â Elon's men's and women's tennis teams held a clinic for the youth of Alamance County on March 26 at the Burlington Tennis Center. Phoenix players and coaches led about 75 elementary and middle school-aged kids through various drills to teach them the skills of the game.
HEAD COACH MICHAEL LEONARD:Â Leonard is in his 11
th season as director of tennis and head men's tennis coach at Elon. He is a five-time recipient of the SoCon Coach of the Year award, having won the honor the last two seasons. Leonard guided the Phoenix to back-to-back SoCon titles in 2013 and 2014, as well as a second NCAA Tournament appearance in 2014.

ROAD TO WILLIAMSBURG:Â The Colonial Athletic Association men's tennis tournament will take place in Williamsburg, Va., April 16-19. This season is Elon's first in the CAA after 11 years in the Southern Conference. While in the SoCon, the Phoenix won regular season titles in 2006, 2007, 2011, 2013 and 2014, and captured the SoCon Tournament title in 2007 and 2014.
