ELON, N.C. – The Elon University volleyball team reported back to campus for the beginning of team activities on Monday, Aug. 10. The team had its annual Media Day in the afternoon, doing both its intro video shoot and team photo shoot. The Phoenix begins practice tonight at Alumni Gym in preparation for its Aug. 28 season opener against Washington State as part of the Radford/Virginia Tech Invitational.
 
"We look forward to the start of preseason practices," said Elon head coach Mary Tendler. "All of our players will compete hard as we integrate the six newcomers into our offensive and defensive systems.  This team will be exciting to watch with plenty of depth at each position."
 
Phoenix fans can catch team at home for the first time Sept. 4-5 for the Elon Phoenix Classic. Elon will face Charleston Southern on Sept. 4 before taking on North Carolina Central and Wake Forest a day later.
