ELON, N.C. – Elon University head women's tennis coach Elizabeth Anderson has announced the addition of Sofia Edo (Buenos Aires, Argentina) for the upcoming 2017 season on Friday, Dec. 15.
 
"Sofia is going to be a great fit at Elon," said Anderson. "Bret [Beaver] and I are excited about the impact she will make both in the classroom and on the court.  Sofia has an extremely hard work ethic, positive attitude and is very determined to be successful at Elon. We are looking forward to her arrival on campus in a few weeks."
 
Edo won a total of eight Argentina national tournaments at the junior level. She also competed on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) circuit.
 
She attended Colegio San Ignacio de Loyola High School in Argentina was named to the academic honor roll every semester at Colegio San Ignacio de Loyola. In addition, Edo earned the San Ignacio Award, which rewards students for academics and community service. Edo was also earned San Ignacio Athlete of the Year honors.
