ELON, N.C. – For the first time in its nine-year history, Night of the Phoenix is opening its silent auction to an online bidding system, giving Elon fans around the world the opportunity to bid on items through their laptop or mobile device. All proceeds from the silent auction benefit student-athlete scholarships.
 
Be sure to check out the auction website to familiarize yourself with it and register your cell phone.  You can also check out the FAQ page to learn more about the process and for directions to register your phone. New items will be posted throughout the next couple of weeks leading up to Night of the Phoenix, so be sure to check the website frequently.
 
The ninth annual Night of the Phoenix event is scheduled for Feb. 19 inside Alumni Gym on Elon's campus.
 
Some highlighted auction items include:
 
• Kiawah Island package including accommodations for three nights in the Cassique Cottage, two rounds of golf (foursomes), spa treatments at Sasanqua Spa and dining and drinks
 
• Boston Sports weekend (April 8-11) including flights, three night hotel stay, suite tickets for a Boston Celtics game, suite tickets for a Boston Bruins game, tickets for the Elon baseball game at Northeastern and tickets for the Boston Red Sox home opener
 
• Box seats for a New York Yankees weekend series
 
• Behind the scenes tour of the set of ABC hit drama "How to Get Away with Murder" with producer Peter Nowalk
