What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about having six new Freshmen on the team?Answer: (Chuckling) "I knew the first question would be about our Freshmen. The first thing that comes to mind is: "How did I get myself into this?" (Laughs) As you can imagine, I've had to answer to more questions (from teammates) this semester than in my previous three years combined. All joking aside, it's been challenging at times, but certainly exciting. Inexperience isn't necessarily a bad trait if you are fearless and embrace competition."
Tell us one thing that most people outside of your family/close friends don't know about you.I lived in four different countries when I was growing up: Turkey, Thailand, Switzerland and Sweden. Istanbul is probably my favorite city within those countries; it's rich in culture and the food is amazing!
What do you like the most about Elon? Its beautiful campus, as well as the eclectic collection of remarkably bright and talented individuals that you get the opportunity to meet.
Who is your "celebrity crush?" Emma Watson...and Zoey from "House of Cards."
If you could travel back in time to when you first arrived at Elon, what advice would you give yourself? If you live in Danieley, take the bio bus; it actually does save you time. If you're in a rush, pick Pandora's pies over the Root. If you want a proper breakfast bagel, Mike's Deli is the way to go... and if you want to save money, get your books from Amazon.
If you could have dinner with any three individuals, (personalities, historical figures, fictitious characters, etc.) who would it be and why?Elon Musk, Sherlock Holmes, and Robin Williams. A fearless entrepreneur, one of the wittiest characters in contemporary literature, and one of the funniest actors to have ever lived. I think we'd have a good evening. (Smile)
You have been a part of two conference championship teams. What is your most cherished memory from those years?(Pause) That's a tough question; there's been so many. Let's see, the win at Duke and claiming the conference title in 2014 are two that come to mind right away. (Elon opened the 2014 campaign by defeating then ranked #7 Duke 4-3 in one of the greatest upsets in college tennis history. The team went on to claim the conference title and achieved its highest ranking in program history: #39)
If you were a superhero, what would your superpower be?I'd be omni-linguistic. Imagine being able to speak and understand every language effortlessly.
What are your plans for after graduation in May?I'm planning on spending the summer in Europe working for a Swedish sports management company that focuses mostly on promoting tennis events.
