And…WE'RE OFF! It's finally here! It didn't hit me until June that I will actually be leaving the country without the aid of my dad. Before I left this morning, I made sure to double check my bags because I knew there would be no turning around.
Since the day started, I would have to say that's been very eventful. That's because while checking in at RDU we ran into Quincy Miller, a former NBA player and a current international player. A couple of my teammates were lucky enough to get a picture with him. (Yes, I was jealous). Then our flight into JFK was delayed a couple of times so that cut our layover time fairly short.
We landed in New York at 5:34 p.m. when our flight was boarding at 5:25pm. As soon as the plane door opened we all rushed out and headed to our next gate. They began to say last call as soon as we were walking up to the gate. I'm happy to say that we made it in time.
It's crazy to think that once we land we will begin to embark on an adventure that we will remember for a lifetime with people we will never forget! I'm so thankful for this opportunity.
GO PHOENIX!
