CONWAY, S.C. – Elon University men's tennis earned its fifth victory in a row Monday afternoon, March 19, with a 6-1 victory at Coastal Carolina at Stevens Tennis Center.
 
THE RUNDOWN
Picking up wins at Nos. 1 and 3, Elon earned the doubles point to start the day thanks to Mario Paccini and Neal Port taking a 6-1 win at No. 1 and Taylor Foote and Louis Rico earning a 6-4 victory at No. 3. At No. 2, Felipe Sarrasague and Salvador Mijares were tied with Luiz Faria and Gonzalez Achondo at 4-4 before the match was left unfinished.
 
Like Sunday against VCU, Elon earned victories at Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6. Sarrasague defeated Faria 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (8) at No. 1 to earn his team-leading 10th win of the season. At No. 2, Paccini took a 7-5, 6-3 win over Zak Talic to claim his fifth-straight victory.
 
At No. 2, Kyle Frankel cruised to a 6-4, 6-0 win over Achondo while Jacob Bicknell picked up a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 6. Playing out all three sets at No. 4, Mijares took a 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over Paul Boulay to help the Phoenix claim the 6-1 win.
 
UP NEXT
Continuing its trip to South Carolina, Elon will visit USC Upstate on Wednesday, March 21, at 2 p.m. looking to earn its sixth win in a row. Last time Elon won this many matches in a row came during the 2016 season when the Phoenix won seven straight from March 11 to April 3.
