ELON, N.C. – Elon University men's basketball travels to Atlanta, Ga. to take on Georgia Tech in its first road contest of the year on Monday, Nov. 11. That matchup will take place at the McCamish Pavilion at 7:30 p.m.

THE MATCHUP
• This will be the fourth time that Elon and Georgia Tech have faced each other in program history, with Elon trailing the series 3-0.
• Elon fell to Georgia Tech 83-49 in their last meeting, which came last year during the 2006-07 season.

ABOUT ELON
• Elon University men's basketball had six players score in double figures en route to a dominant 95-54 win over Milligan on Friday, Nov. 8.
• The Phoenix was led by senior guard Marcus Sheffield who scored 11 points, while grabbing six rebounds and dishing out a Phoenix program record-tying 11 assists on the evening.
• Elon also got a major boost from junior forward
Simon Wright, who tallied a career-high 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the floor. Wright added seven rebounds to his stat line while also coming away with three steals for the Phoenix.

Kris Wooten and
Zac Ervin also played big roles for the Phoenix in Friday night's win over Milligan. Wooten finished with a season high 15 points, adding three rebounds, four assists and three steals in the win. Ervin dropped a career-high 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc.
The Phoenix shot the ball 46.1 percent from the floor, including 40.0 percent clip from long range.
• Elon outrebounded Milligan 55-33, including a 14-4 advantage on the offensive glass
• The Phoenix tallied 26 assists in the win, compared to just 10 for Milligan
• Elon defeated Mars Hill 90-84 in its season opener to secure the first win under the direction of
Mike Schrage.
• The Phoenix were led by guard Marcus Sheffield who posted 24 points, five rebounds and four assists in the matchup with Mars Hill.

Hunter McIntosh and
Federico Poser also played a key role in the win, with McIntosh contributing 16 points and four threes assists while shooting 4-of-9 from deep. Poser added 14 points, eight rebounds and a team-leading five assists on the evening.

• Elon is led by first year head coach
Mike Schrage, who spent two seasons as an assistant at Ohio State before becoming Elon's head coach.
• The Phoenix have no seniors on the roster with the exception of graduate transfer Marcus Sheffield, who earned a Preseason All-CAA honorable mention.
• Additionally, the Phoenix made six new additions to the squad for 2019-20 in first-year playersÂ
Hunter McIntosh, Hunter Woods, Zac Ervin and Ben Daugherty, while also adding two transfers in Marcus Sheffield (Stanford)
and Jerald Gillens-Butler (Butler).
• The Phoenix has been predicted to finish tenth in the league as the CAA released its preseason men's basketball poll on Oct. 9, during the conference's digital media day. Hofstra was picked the favorite to win the league.

LOOKING AHEAD TO 2019-20
• Elon's 107th season of basketball continues this Monday, Nov. 11, when the Elon Phoenix travel to Atlanta, Ga. to take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the program's third regular season basketball game under head coach
Mike Schrage.
• Following that contest, the Phoenix will remain on the road for the next two contests against Michigan (Nov. 15) and UNC (Nov. 20) respectively.
• During its non-conference slate, the Phoenix plays host to six home contests, which includes a four game homestand against Manhattan, Furman, UT Arlington and Kennesaw State.
• Elon opens CAA play with a home contest against William & Mary on Dec. 30.

SCOUTING GEORGIA TECH
• Georgia Tech is an institution out of Atlanta, Ga. that competes in the Atlantic Coastal Conference (ACC).
• The Buffalo are off to a 1-0 start this season after defeating N.C. State 82-81 in overtime in its season opener.
• Georgia Tech is in its third season under 2017 ACC Coach of the Year Josh Pastner, who has coached the team to a 27-52 record during his time with the program.
• The Yellow Jsckets are led by James Banks III who posted 20 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks in the season opener. Georgia Tech has also got key contributions from Michael Devoe, who added 22 points and four assists against N.C. State.

The Phoenix will hit the road for the first time this season when it travels to Atlanta, Ga. for a Monday night matchup with Georgia Tech. Elon will then turn around and face Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich. On Friday, Nov. 15.
