ELON, N.C. – Elon University men's basketball is back in action on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, for a noon matchup with UT Arlington at Schar Center.

COVERAGE
• Elon's matchup with UT Arlington will be streamed live on FloSports.

THE MATCHUP
• This marks the first time that Elon and UT Arlington will meet in program history.
 
ABOUT ELON
• So far this season, Elon is off to a 2-5 start, with both wins on the year coming at Schar Center.
• The Phoenix is led by senior guard Marcus Sheffield who is posting 16.3 points per game to go along with 5.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists per contest.
• Hunter Woods and Hunter McIntosh are combining to average 18.3 points and 8.1 rebounds per outing.
• Simon Wright leads the team in rebounding at 6.4 per game, adding 6.7 points per game as well.
• Elon is led by first year head coach Mike Schrage, who spent two seasons as an assistant at Ohio State before becoming Elon's head coach.
• The Phoenix have no seniors on the roster with the exception of graduate transfer Marcus Sheffield, who earned a Preseason All-CAA honorable mention.
• Additionally, the Phoenix made six new additions to the squad for 2019-20 in first-year players Hunter McIntosh, Hunter Woods, Zac Ervin and Ben Daugherty, while also adding two transfers in Marcus Sheffield (Stanford) and Jerald Gillens-Butler (Butler).
 
SCOUTING UT ARLINGTON
• UT Arlington is a Division I institution out of Arlington, Texas that competes in the Sun Belt Conference (SBC).
• The Mavericks are off to a 3-4 start this season, boasting wins over UT Dallas, Tulsa and Arkansas Tech respectively. Three of UT Arlington's four losses on the season all came on the road against Power 5 opponents in Nevada, No. 14 Oregon and No. 8 Gonzaga.
• UT Arlington is in its second season under head coach Chris Ogden, who led the team to a Sun Belt Conference Championship appearance in his first season at the helm.
• The Mavericks are led by forward Jabari Narcis, who leads the team in rebounding at 8.2 per game, while ranking second on the team in scoring at 12.0 points per game.
 
LAST TIME OUT
• In its most recent outing, Elon fell to Furman 97-61 on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
• The Phoenix was led by junior forward Simon Wright who dropped 11 points, while grabbing seven rebounds in the contest. Hunter McIntosh led the team in scoring with 13 points, adding two assists and two steals on the night.


UP NEXT
Following that game, Elon will remain at home to take on Kennesaw State. That matchup is slated to begin at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2.
