ELON, N.C. – Elon University women's basketball will be back in action for its third of eight consecutive road games when it takes on #9 NC State at noon on Sunday, Nov. 15.

ABOUT ELON
-Over Thanksgiving weekend, Elon competed in the Lady Rebel Roundup at UNLV. The Phoenix defeated the Lady Rebels 50-44 prior to falling short against IUPUI in the tournament finals (59-53).
-Ariel Colón led the offense, totaling 31 points on the weekend and shooting 11-16 from the field. Against IUPUI, Jada Graves finished with a game-best and season-high five steals.
-The CAA announced in its preseason poll that the Phoenix was picked eighth, earning 28 points. James Madison was named the favorite, totaling 81 points and nine first-place votes.
-Elon is led by ninth year head coach Charlotte Smith, who led the Phoenix to two consecutive CAA Championship titles in 2017 and 2018.
 
LOOKING AHEAD TO 2019-20
-After this matchup, Elon travels to Myrtle Beach, S.C. to take on Newberry College and Coastal Carolina in the Carolinas College Challenge. The Phoenix then closes out 2019 with a road contest against Furman on Monday Dec. 30.
-The Phoenix is scheduled to be on the road for a majority of the holiday season. Starting Nov. 30, Elon will have eight consecutive road games. Opponents include UNLV, St.John's/IUPUI, NC State, Newberry, Coastal Carolina, Furman, Towson, and James Madison.
-Elon opens CAA play against Towson on Jan. 3.
 
SCOUTING NC State
-The Wolfpack comes into the game with a 9-0 record, ranking ninth in the country.
-In their last game, NC State won a 66-59 matchup against #9 Maryland. Kai Crutchfield led all players with 19 points on 5-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc, followed by Elissa Cunane (16) and Kayla Jones (11). Cunane also recorded her third straight double-double with a game-high 15 rebounds.
-The Wolfpack was predicted to finish second in the Atlantic Coast Conference this season by both the league's head coaches and the Blue Ribbon Panel. Aislinn Konig and Cunane were named to the Preseason All-ACC Team, while Jakia Brown-Turner was placed on the Newcomer Watch List.
 
UP NEXT
The Phoenix competes in the Carolinas College Challenge on Dec. 17 and 19 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Elon will first face Newberry College, followed by Coastal Carolina.
