RICHMOND, Va. – After leading the team in scoring during a 1-0 week last week, Elon University men's basketball freshman guard Hunter McIntosh has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week, the league office announced on Monday, Dec 16.

The freshman out of Snellville, Ga. poured in 15 points, adding three assists, two rebounds and two steals in Elon's dominant 91-60 win over North Carolina Wesleyan. McIntosh was on fire all game, going 5-of-5 from downtown in a contest that saw Elon tie a Division I program record with 19 made threes. This marked the second consecutive home game (Kennesaw State – Dec. 2) in which McIntosh has made at least five threes while shooting over 60 percent from beyond the arc.

For his play, McIntosh garnered the first CAA Weekly Honor of his career and earned the Phoenix its second consecutive weekly award.
 
McIntosh also becomes the second Phoenix to be recognized by the CAA as it's Rookie of the Week this season, joining Hunter Woods. Woods, who was named Rookie of the Week last week (Dec. 9), averaged 16.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per contest to earn the honor.
 
The Phoenix will be back in action on Tuesday, Dec. 17, when it travels to Buies Creek, N.C. for a 7 p.m. matchup with Campbell.
