ELON, N.C. – Elon University women's tennis and head coach Elizabeth Anderson released the upcoming 2020 spring schedule on Monday, Dec. 9. The 26-match regular season schedule features 12 contests at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center to go with matchups against four teams that qualified for the 2019 NCAA Women's Tennis Championships.

"We are looking forward to beginning our spring season," Anderson said. "The team worked extremely hard this fall and improved a lot. We have a lot of great opportunities ahead and a challenging schedule which will prepare us for the conference championships in April."

Elon's 12-match home slate features two contests in January, four in February, four in March, and two more in April before competing in the CAA Championships. Throughout the year, the Phoenix will host 12 teams including Clemson, Richmond, Virginia Commonwealth and Western Carolina.
 
Early on in the season, Elon will make trips to ACC foes Duke and North Carolina before continuing with in-state competition against Davidson, East Carolina, and UNCG.
 
During the season Elon will battle five CAA programs in UNCW, James Madison, College of Charleston, Towson and William & Mary. The Phoenix are hosting Clemson on March 15^th. These matches will be great preparation for the conference tournament April 16-19.
 
The Phoenix are returning 2019 CAA Second-Team Singles selection Olivia Archer as well as 2019 CAA Second-Team Doubles selections Alex Koniaev, Nicole Shiau and Uma Nayar. In 2019, Archer went 17-4 in singles, while Koniaev combined with Maria Paraja to go 9-8 in No. 1 doubles and Nayar/Shiau finished 11-4 in No. 2 doubles.
