ELON – The Elon women's tennis team (11-3) heads to Virginia this weekend for a pair of road matches. The Phoenix will face William & Mary (12-4) in a rematch of last year's CAA championship match on Friday before taking on No. 63 Old Dominion (5-4) on Saturday.

The Matchups
- William & Mary holds an 11-3 advantage in the series against the Phoenix.
- Elon won both matchups against the Tribe last season, including in the CAA championship match.
- The two matches in 2025 came within an eight-day span at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. The Phoenix defeated the Tribe 4-3 in the regular season with Mariana Reding clinching the match at No. 2 singles with a three-set victory. In the CAA title match, Elon won the doubles point and got singles victories from Heidi Bulger, Lisa Kranec and Simone Bergeron for its first CAA title.
- Elon has not defeated the Tribe in Williamsburg in five previous trips. The most recent match between Elon and William & Mary in Williamsburg came in the 2024 regular season, with the Tribe winning 5-2.

- Elon is 11-3 this season with wins in eight of its last nine matches.
- Simone Bergeron is back for her junior season after a breakout campaign last spring that saw her take home CAA Women's Tennis Player of the Year. Bergeron has 16 wins across doubles and singles this spring after earning All-CAA First Team recognition in both last season.
- Bergeron's primary doubles partner this season has been Mariana Reding, who also earned First Team All-CAA honors in doubles a season ago. Reding, also a junior, leads the Phoenix with 20 total wins this spring.  Â
- After a strong freshman campaign that saw her secure All-CAA Second Team recognition, Lisa Kranec has been one of Elon's top contributors this spring, with 10 doubles victories and seven singles wins.
- Also back for the Phoenix is senior Madison Cordisco, who finished second on the team last season with 17 singles triumphs. She went 14-4 at the No. 5 position. Â
- Senior Helen Sarikulaya also received All-CAA recognition in both singles (Third Team) and doubles (Second Team) last spring.Â
- Elon welcomes three newcomers this season – Cornelia Kack, Alexis Nyborg and Nathalie Marinovitch. Â
- Kack joined the Phoenix after earning All-CAA Third Team honors in doubles last season as a freshman at Delaware and is tied with Reding for a team-high 20 total wins this spring. Nyborg came to Elon following two successful seasons at UNC Asheville, where she earned All-Big South First Team honors in singles in 2025. The junior is tied for third on the Phoenix with eight singles wins this spring.
- Marinovitch, a native of Cochabamba, Bolivia, is Elon's lone freshman. Â
- Elon won its first ever CAA championship last spring, winning the CAA Tournament at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center with a victory over three-time defending champion William & Mary in the final.Â
- The Phoenix earned the CAA's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and faced No. 10 Tennessee in the opening round. Elon finished the season with a 19-6 overall record, which included a 15-2 mark at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.Â
- Elon is led by reigning CAA Coach of the Year Elizabeth Anderson, who is in her 22nd season leading the Phoenix. She is joined by first-year assistant coach Allie Gretkowski, who played college tennis at South Carolina and Louisville. Â

Last Time Out
- Elon picked up a crucial 5-2 road win at College of Charleston on March 24, rallying back after losing the doubles point to win five singles points.
- The Cougars took the doubles point with a pair of convincing wins at the Nos. 1-2 spots.
- Reding evened the score with a 7-5, 6-1 victory on Court 3 over Francesca Salvato. It was the junior's team-best 12th win of the campaign.
- Shortly after her doubles partner's win, Bergeron tallied her own straight-set victory on Court 2, beating Oziera Ahmad 6-1, 6-4 to give Elon its first lead of the match.
- The Cougars pulled back even with a win at No. 4 singles.
- A three-set win by Madison Cordisco on Court 6 restored Elon's lead. Cordisco split her opening two frames against Riley Trinkle but raced out to a 5-0 advantage in the deciding set on her way to a 6-1 set win. The victory was Cordisco's first in a final set this season and her fourth overall this spring.
- The final two matches came down to deciding sets, with Elon needing to win just one to secure the match victory.
- Kack lost her opening set from 4-1 up but recovered in the second set, winning the final three games to take it, 7-5. Kack went ahead 3-0 in the third against Sia Carlov but had her lead reduced to 4-3. After trading the next two games, Kack won the 10th game to finish off a 6-4, 7-5, 6-4 win and deliver Elon the winning point.
- Kranec pushed Elon to 3-0 in third sets on the day with a 6-3, 5-7, 7-5 triumph against Marra Bruce in the final match to finish on Court 5. Kranec took a 4-1 lead in the final set, but Bruce reeled off four games in a row to take the lead. However, Kranec responded by winning the next three games to take the match. It was her first victory in a final set in three tries this spring. The sophomore has won three consecutive matches, all coming at the No. 5 spot.
- The win was Elon's second this season after losing the doubles point. The Phoenix also flipped its match against UConn on March 19 after losing doubles to win 5-2.
- This was Elon's first road victory against the Cougars since 2018 as the Phoenix had lost its previous two trips to Charleston. Elon has now won three straight matches against the Cougars.

Phoenix In The Rankings
- Elon was ranked three straight weeks in the ITA team poll.
- The Phoenix entered the rankings on March 3 at No. 58, the highest ranking in Elon's Division I history, beating the previous best mark of No. 59 from the poll on March 5, 2013. Elon was then ranked in the March 10, March 17 and March 24 editions of the rankings.
- Elon's ranking on March 3 was its first since Jan. 6, 2015, when the Phoenix held the 75th and final spot in the standings.
- Elon is the only CAA team to be ranked this season. All three of Elon's losses this season have come against teams that have been ranked in the top 60 at some point this season.

CAA Championship Rematch
- Friday will be the first meeting between the Phoenix and Tribe since last season's CAA championship match at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
- Elon defeated the three-time defending CAA champions 4-2 to win its first CAA Tournament title.
- The doubles point came down to Court 2 following a split at the Nos. 1 and 3 spots, with Simone Bergeron and Mariana Reding winning 6-3 on Court 1 for the Phoenix. Helen Sarikulaya and Lisa Kranec clinched the opening point for Elon with a 6-3 victory of their own at the No. 2 position.
- The Tribe tied the match win a win on Court 2, but Bulger gave Elon back the lead with a dominant 6-2, 6-0 triumph at the No. 4 spot.
- William & Mary tied the match again, 2-1, with a win on Court 3.
- Kranec pushed Elon back ahead with a comeback win on Court 6. She lost the first 3-6, but won the next two sets 6-4, 6-3 to put the Phoenix on the brink of a title.
- The remaining two singles matches also went to third sets. On Court 1, Bergeron won a tight decider against Hedda Gurholt, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 to secure the win and the conference title for the Phoenix.

- Reding is tied with Kack the most total wins on Phoenix this spring with 20 victories across singles and doubles.
- The junior is on a nine-match singles winning streak, with eight of the nine victories coming in straight sets.
- Reding is coming off a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Charleston's Francesca Salvatore on March 24. The junior is 2-0 this season against CAA opponents.
- Reding has won a 6-1 singles set in six consecutive outings. The last time she did not win a set 6-1 in a match was March 1 against Davidson.
- Reding's 12 singles victories are the most on the Phoenix, with all the wins coming at the No. 3 spot.Â
- Reding has won 12 of her last 13 singles matches and 24 of her last 27 singles sets. Her only loss in that stretch came against No. 3 North Carolina.
- Reding's lone two singles losses this season are to ranked opponents (Charlotte and North Carolina).
- In doubles, Reding is 8-5 at the No. 1 spot alongside partner Simone Bergeron.
- Reding was named CAA Player of the Week on March 3 after going 6-0 overall in Elon's sweeps against North Carolina A&T, Wofford and Davidson.

- Kack's Elon career is off to a prolific start, as the sophomore is tied with Reding for the most total wins on the team this spring (20).
- Kack made her No. 1 singles debut for Elon against Furman on March 14, winning in three sets to clinch the victory for the Phoenix. The sophomore has since clinched Elon's wins against UConn and College of Charleston with victories at the No. 1 position.Â
- Kack was won seven straight completed singles matches. She has not lost a match since Feb. 17 at No. 3 North Carolina.
- The sophomore has been ruthless in singles, winning seven sets by either a 6-1 or 6-0 scoreline.
- Like Reding, Kack's only singles losses this season have come against Charlotte and North Carolina, both ranked opponents.
- Prior to the Furman match, Kack played the No. 2 spot, winning seven times.
- Kack has also formed one of Elon's most reliable doubles pairings alongside Kranec, with the duo leading the Phoenix in doubles wins this spring (10).
- Kack earned CAA Co-Player of the Week honors on Feb. 17 after a dominant stretch in which she posted multiple singles and doubles wins for the Phoenix.
- Against No. 3 North Carolina on Feb. 17, Kack took a set off Oby Kajuru, the No. 7-ranked player in the ITA standings, pushing the nationally ranked Tar Heel to three sets at the No. 2 singles position.

- Last season, Bergeron became the first Elon player to win both CAA Player of the Year and CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player.
- She picked up 20 doubles victories in her sophomore campaign, tied for the third most in a season by an Elon player.
- All 12 of Bergeron's singles victories last spring came at the No. 1 position, which included the CAA title clinching win against William & Mary.
- Bergeron has compiled 72 dual wins across singles and doubles in her first three campaigns with the Phoenix. She won at least 12 matches in both singles and doubles in each of her first two seasons.
- This fall, Bergeron was selected as the CAA's singles representative at ITA Conference Masters. She was the first Elon player to compete at the event.
- Bergeron has 16 victories this spring, with eight coming at No. 1 doubles alongside Reding.
- Bergeron has also won eight of her last nine completed singles matches, with all eight of the wins coming in straight sets. After playing the No. 1 spot to start the season, Bergeron recently moved to No. 2 singles and is 3-0 playing that court.
- The junior is coming off a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Charleston's Oziera Ahmad on March 24. She is 2-0 against CAA opponents in singles this season. Bergeron has won her last three singles outings by a combined score of 36-10.
- Against Queens on March 21, Bergeron pitched a perfect day across doubles and singles, going 18-0 in total games. After sweeping her doubles match with Reding, she won her singles match 6-0, 6-0, her first time blanking an opponent in singles since the 2024 CAA Tournament against Monmouth.

- In her debut campaign with the Phoenix, Nyborg has become a reliable contributor in both doubles and singles.
- Nyborg is tied for third on the Phoenix with eight singles wins this spring and has won three of her last four matches.
- The junior has played the Nos. 4 and 5 singles spots, with each of her last three appearances coming at the No. 4 position.
- Seven of her eight victories have come in straight sets and all three of her defeats this season have come against ITA ranked teams.
- Nyborg joined Elon's doubles lineup against North Carolina A&T on Feb. 25 and has appeared at the No. 2 spot in every match since, picking up four wins with Cordisco and Marinovitch.
- The Nyborg and Cordisco duo is 3-1 this season, with wins against the Aggies, South Carolina State and Queens.
- Nyborg also clinched the doubles point for the Phoenix against Furman alongside Marinovitch, as the tandem of Elon newcomers rallied from a break down to win 7-5 at the No. 2 spot on March 14.

- Kranec has formed half of Elon's winningest doubles pairing this spring alongside Kack.
- The duo leads the Phoenix with 10 victories, all coming at the No. 3 spot.
- Kranec has added seven singles victories this spring and is coming off a three-set win against College of Charleston on March 24.
- The victory against the Cougars was Kranec's first this season to come in a deciding set.
- Kranec pushed Thea Rabman of North Carolina to a third set on Feb. 17 after winning the first set off her ranked Tar Heel opponent in a tiebreak.
- Cordisco has been a key piece of Elon's doubles lineup this season, entering the weekend with a 5-2 record in doubles this spring.
- Cordisco has won in doubles with both Nyborg and Sarikulaya this season. The senior is 3-1 playing the No. 2 spot alongside Nyborg.
- Cordisco also has four singles victories this season, including a crucial victory at the No. 6 spot that helped the Phoenix win at Charleston. She won her third set 6-1 against Riley Trinkle to move Elon ahead 3-2 in the match.

- Marinovitch made her dual debut for the Phoenix on Feb. 25 against North Carolina A&T, playing the No. 6 singles spot.
- The freshman came through a tight match against the Aggies, defeating Flavia Villegas for her first career dual victory.
- Marinovitch was back in the lineup on Feb. 28 against Wofford, again at the No. 6 position. She clinched the match for the Phoenix with a 6-4, 7-5 win over Marie Henriksen.
- Marinovitch has partnered Nyborg in doubles in three of Elon's last four matches. The duo picked up their first win together on March 14 at Furman, clinching the doubles point for the Phoenix with a 7-5 win at the No. 2 spot.
- Marinovitch has played either singles or doubles in six of the last nine matches.

Doubles Success
- Elon has won the doubles point in seven of the last nine matches and in nine of its 11 victories this season.
- On March 21, Elon had a perfect doubles point against Queens, as the Phoenix won all three matches 6-0 for the first time since 2019.
- Kack and Kranec are tied for the team lead with 10 wins at the No. 3 spot. The duo has won seven straight completed outings and 10 of their last 11. They have won back-to-back matches by 6-0 scorelines and have not lost more than three games in any match during their current winning streak, with a combined winning score of 42-13 in their completed contests.
- Bergeron and Reding have won six of the last nine matches together and are second on the team with eight victories this spring at the No. 1 spot.
- Of the seven Elon doubles pairs to play together this spring, four have delivered victories.
- Elon has won two of its last three matches after dropping the doubles point, as the Phoenix defeated both UConn and Charleston by matching 5-2 scores.
- Elon is 17-3 in doubles matches contested at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center this season, only taking losses against South Alabama and UConn.

- Several Phoenix are moving up Elon's all-time ranks in career doubles wins.
- With her eight doubles victories this spring, Bergeron is up to 41 career wins. The junior became the 14th Phoenix to reach 40 career dual doubles victories earlier this season and is just three behind Suzanne Zenoni for the 13th most in program history
- Reding is not far behind her doubles partner, as she recently cracked the top 15 in career doubles wins with the Phoenix and is just one short of 40 career wins herself (39).
- Cordisco is also making a move up the doubles rankings, as the senior is up to 35 career victories. Â
- With her 12 singles wins this season, Reding also has 40 career wins in singles. She is just three victories away from entering the top 15 in Elon's program history.

The Anderson Era
- Head coach Elizabeth Anderson is in her 22nd season leading the maroon and gold.Â
- Anderson has turned Elon into a consistent winner. Under her guidance, the Phoenix has posted 19 consecutive winning seasons, all of which have included double-digit victories.Â
- Since joining the CAA in the 2014-15 season, Elon has won at least one match in all 10 of its CAA Tournament appearances. Anderson led the program to the CAA championship match for the first time in 2022 and its first CAA title in 2025 to earn an NCAA Tournament bid.
- In Elon's final season in the Southern Conference, Anderson led the maroon and gold to the program's first NCAA Tournament berth in 2013. The Phoenix won its first Southern Conference championship that season to qualify.Â
- Since taking over as head coach in 2005, Anderson has tallied 319 victories at Elon. Her winning percentage is 63% in 510 career matches.Â
- Anderson was named CAA Coach of the Year in 2025, the second time in her career she earned the honor.
- Elon has also been a strong performer in the classroom during Anderson's tenure. The program has earned All-ITA Academic Team honors in 20 consecutive seasons.

Scouting William & Mary
- The Tribe enters Friday's CAA championship rematch with a 12-5 record on the season.
- William & Mary is coming off consecutive 4-3 losses against No. 29 Charlotte and Liberty. The Tribe won the doubles point against the Flames on Sunday but lost four of six in singles.
- The Tribe is 6-4 in 10 home matches this season but have lost three of their last five at the Mackey Tennis Center.
- William & Mary is 5-0 against CAA opponents this season with wins over Stony Brook, Towson, Drexel, UNCW and College of Charleston, with win over the Cougars coming by a 4-3 score in Charleston.
- Three William & Mary players have reached double-digit singles wins this spring – Francesca Davis (13), Rebeka Svabikova (12) and Mira Kernagis (12). Davis has primarily played No. 3 singles with Kernagis playing mostly the No. 4 spot and Svabikova at the No. 5 spot.
- Svabikova has won seven straight singles matches, which includes CAA wins over Drexel, UNCW, Charleston and Stony Brook.
- Sia Chaudry plays No. 1 singles for the Tribe and is 7-8 this season. Tilda Larsson has six wins playing the No. 2 spot.
- Emma Pell and Yaelle Vaissund are 13-1 playing No. 3 doubles for the Tribe this spring and have won 10 consecutive outings. Their lone loss together came at Wake Forest.
- Playing the No. 1 spot, Davis and Larsson are 7-7 and have won two CAA Doubles Team of the Week honors. Kernagis and Alexia Gonzalez-Galino have also won the weekly award while going 8-5 at the No. 2 spot.
- The Tribe has won the doubles point in four of its five conference matches this season, dropping it to only UNCW.
- William & Mary is led by fifth year head coach Jessica Giuggioli.

Scouting No. 63Â Old Dominion
- The Monarchs are 5-4 this season with wins in four straight outings.
- Old Dominion checked in at No. 63 in the most recent ITA team rankings. This will be Elon's first matchup against a ranked opponent as a ranked opponent since facing No. 4 North Carolina on Jan. 9, 2015.
- Old Dominion defeated Marshall, 4-3, on the road on March 29 in its most recent match. The Monarchs will face East Carolina on Friday before hosting the Phoenix.
- The Monarchs have a pair of power conference wins this season, defeating Wake Forest on Feb. 7 (5-2) and Kansas on Feb. 22 (4-2). All four of Old Dominion's losses have come against power conference opponents.
- Old Dominion is 3-2 at home this season with wins over Wake Forest, VCU and Appalachian State.
- A pair of Monarchs appeared in the most recent ITA singles rankings, with Kira Matushkina checking in at No. 97 and Victoria Matasova at No. 117.
- Dominic Manilla is in his 15th season as Old Dominion's head coach.
