ELON, N.C. – It was a night to remember on Friday, Feb. 15, inside Schar Center, as the Elon University community came together to raise more than $266,000 in one night for Elon student-athlete scholarships at the 12th Annual Night of the Phoenix event, presented by Samet Corporation.

"The impact of this event will touch many student-athletes for years to come and for that, we are very thankful", said Elon Director of Athletics Dave Blank. "I am very appreciative of the effort the Phoenix Club Advisory Board puts forth to help make this event a success year after year. The energy in Schar Center on Friday night with all of our student-athletes present was something I'll remember for a long time. It was great to see so many members of the Elon community coming together to support student-athlete scholarships."
 
The evening kicked off with a robust silent auction consisting of more than 300 exclusive items for bid both in-venue and online at the Night of the Phoenix. For the fourth year in a row, all items were available both in-venue and online across the world with over 1,700 combined bids taking place. A round of golf at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, N.Y., had more than 40 bids during the event and was one of many items to sell for more than $2,500.

During the night, women's basketball alumna Zora Stephenson '15 led the audience through a celebration of Elon student-athletes, including interviews with men's basketball senior Tyler Seibring and volleyball senior Maddie Jaudon. The program was capped with a video of three football alumni - Akeem Langham '14, Miles Williams '15, and Blake Thompson '13 - showcasing how their athletic scholarships impact them daily in their work in New Orleans.
