THE SERIES
Elon leads the all-time series 2-1 and has won each of the last two meetings between the two sides. Last season, the sixth-ranked Phoenix earned a Homecoming victory over URI with a 24-21 win on Nov. 3. The year before, Warren Messer sealed a back-and-forth contest with an interception with seconds to play to seal the victory.
 
GAME NOTES
