ELON, N.C. – Elon University head men's tennis coach
Michael Leonard announced the signing of Samuel Dively (Goldsboro, N.C.) for the 2019-20 season on Thursday, August 1.
"We are excited about Sam joining our team this fall," said Leonard. "We think he has just scratched the surface of his potential and look forward to watching him develop over the next four years."
While at Wayne Country Day School, Dively was a six-time All-State selection, a five-time MVP, a News and Observer All-Metro Team honoree, and the N&O Player of the Year. He also helped his team to a pair of runner-up finishes in the 2A state championship tournament and earned the Tom Jones Sportsmanship Award as a senior. He is currently ranked No. 171 nationally by Tennis Recruiting for the class of 2019.
Dively joins fellow freshman Nick Condos (Wilton, Conn.), who
signed last November.
