CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – For the 10th year in a row, the Elon University women's golf team has a WGCA All-American Scholar as sophomore Haley Bookholdt earned the distinction on Monday, July 8.

The Columbus, N.J. native posted a 78.46 stroke average across 24 rounds this past year and tied for 18th overall at the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate on April 7-8. In the classroom, she posted a 3.50 GPA.
 
The All-American scholars are presented by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA), formerly known as the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA). Founded in 1983, the WGCA is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. It was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. This year, the WGCA recognized a total of 1,011 women's golfers from the Division I, II and III ranks.
 
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is a 3.50.
