Elon Wraps Up Day Two of the Elon Invitational

ELON, N.C. – Elon University women's tennis completed day two of the Elon Fall Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 14.
 
On day two, the Phoenix had two duos win their matchups in doubles, and advance to the final round tomorrow morning.
 
THE RUNDOWN
In singles play, Victoria Saldh defeated Milijana Ristic in two sets. Saldh claimed the first set 6-1, before winning the second set 6-3. Saldh will move on to face Maeva Roquebert tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.
 
Additionally in singles, Sofia Edo defeated Katie Chang in straight sets. Edo jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead, winning set one 6-0 before claiming set two 6-4. Edo would fall to Manon Delsol of Gardner Webb in the next round.
 
Nicole Shiau picked up win on day two, defeating Roberta Armani 6-3 and 6-1. She will face Ivana Dragovic of NCCU in the next round of the Phoenix Singles bracket tomorrow at 11:30 a.m.
 
In doubles play, Alex Koniaev and Uma Nayar highlighted day two, advancing to the finals of the Maroon Doubles flight. Nayar and Koniaev teamed up to win their match this morning 7-6(2) over ETSU's Alejandra Morales and Raquel Armaro. The duo moves on to face Andrea Pascual and Maria Carvijal also of ETSU in the final round tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m.
 
Olivia Archer and Sofia Edo combined to defeat USC Upstate's Illanes and Mercer's Huynh 6-0 in to move on to the finals of the Powell Doubles bracket. The pair will face NCCU's Sofia Miller and Emily Pena tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. in the final round.

The Phoenix will be back in action tomorrow, Sept. 15, for day three of the Elon Invitational.
