ELON – Elon University women's tennis junior
Simone Bergeron will represent the CAA at ITA Conference Masters in singles, becoming the first Elon player to compete in the event.
The ITA Conference Masters will be held at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, California, from Nov. 6-9 and will feature representatives from each Division I tennis conference. It serves as a qualifier for the NCAA Individual Championships, which will be contested from Nov. 18-23. The four singles semifinalists and top three doubles teams will qualify for NCAAs.
Each conference gets one representative in both singles and doubles. The CAA selected its representatives through a vote of the conference's head coaches. This is the second edition of the event.
Bergeron, the reigning CAA Player of the Year, is 5-4 in singles this fall. She was the co-singles winner of September's Jimmy Powell Invitational and competed in the main singles draw at ITA Carolina Regionals earlier this month.
