Elon, The Citadel to Clash Saturday at Rhodes Stadium

ELON, N.C. – Set to kickoff the 2019 home campaign, Elon University football will welcome The Citadel to Rhodes Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 7, for a 2 p.m. kickoff to celebrate Hall of Fame Weekend. Fans can watch the game live on FloSports with Taylor Durham and Matt Krause on the call. Phoenix fans can also listen to the game on the TuneIn app.

GAME DAY INFORMATION

HOW TO WATCH THE GAME
-With the CAA and FloSports partnering to broadcast select events, special CAA fan pricing is now available with two options available:

SERIES HISTORY
-Elon and The Citadel have met 13 times to date with The Citadel leading the all-time series 8-5. 
-This Saturday marks the first meeting between Elon and The Citadel since the 2013 season when Elon was a member of the Southern Conference.
-Elon has won four of the last six against the Bulldogs going back to the 2008 campaign.

LAST TIME OUT
-No. 21 Elon dropped a 24-21 road contest to No. 19 North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, N.C.
-Elon and N.C. A&T were tied at 21 after three quarters and the game was tied with less than a minute to go before Noel Ruiz hit a 52-yard field goal as time expired to win the game for the Aggies.
-Jarquez Bizzell led the Elon defense in tying his career high with nine tackles. Davis Cheek completed 16-of-27 passes for 202 yards to go with a touchdown pass to Kortez Weeks.

HALL OF FAME WEEKEND
-Before the game, Elon will induct four new members to the Elon Sports Hall of Fame at a ceremony inside Schar Center.
-The 49th Sports Hall of Fame class includes women's basketball's Jayme Chikos '03, women's tennis's Anna Milian '10, women's soccer's Erin Morse '00 and football's Scott Riddle '11.
-All four individuals will be honored at halftime of the football game.

UP NEXT
-Ready to hit the road for its CAA Football opener, Elon will visit Richmond on Saturday, Sept. 14.
