ELON, N.C. – Elon University baseball and Head Coach
Mike Kennedy have signed four players that will join the program in the fall of 2021. Committing to play for the Phoenix is outfielder and first baseman Vince DiLeonardo (Arlington, Va./Fredericksburg Christian), catcher and utility player Alex Duffey (Bernardsville, N.J./Immaculata), and pitchers Christo Garrelts (Killingsworth, Conn./The Loomis Chaffee School) and Shea Sprague (Hanover, Mass./Boston College High).
"I am really excited about this group," said Kennedy. "We were able to target specific needs and go get kids that we feel have a chance to make a great impact in our program. Each of these players are high-character kids with great ability that should fit in nicely here at Elon! We believe they will be a vital part of our goals to win Championships in the CAA and compete nationally for years to come."

He has the ability to play both corner outfield spots as well as first base. We are pleased with Vince's decision to join our Elon baseball family."

Alex is a primary catcher but has the ability to play multiple positions on the field. His versatility and offensive ability will give him a chance to compete for playing time very early in his career. We are very excited that Alex and his family have chosen to join the Elon Baseball family!"

Christo has the abiliity to become a weekend starter early in his career. We can't wait to get him to campus and get to work!"

Shea brings us a much-needed left-handed arm to add to our pitching staff. He already has above-average pitch ability and he will continue to add velocity which will only make him that much better. We are thrilled about Shea's future in an Elon uniform!"

• Made two appearances and threw 10 innings in the 2019 Super 8 Tournament, helping his team finish fourth
