PINEHURST, N.C. – Elon University men's golf captured the team title and Graham Hutchinson held on to win the individual title on the final day of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate. The Phoenix posted a nine-over par 293 in the final round to finish with a three-round total of 878 (+26). Davidson was the runner-up with an 898 (+46), and Radford took third with a 902 (+50).

"Go Elon!," said head coach Don Hill on the wins. "Just having the opportunity to compete in Pinehurst is special and to come away with a 20-shot victory is incredible. It really is a testament to how hard these guys have been working. We take pride in being resilient and we were this week. We'll take 24 hours to go home and enjoy this one and get back to work on Tuesday. Plus, this is the week before spring break and I know the guys have a bunch of school work to complete before we leave for ECU and the Pirate Invitational."
 
HIGHLIGHTS
Hutchinson posted a one-over 72 through the final 18 holes to finish with an even 213 for the tournament. Quade Lukes also shot a 72 today and tied for second with a six-over par 219. Max Ferrari carded a one-over 73 and tied for fifth with 220 (+7). Next was Bronson Myers, who tied for 21st with a 229 (+16), while Dustin Blank and William Frodigh tied for 37th at 232 (+19). Josef Dransfeld wasn't far behind as he tied for 49th with a 236.

Hutchinson led the field with 10 birdies while Lukes had eight. Blank, Lukes, Hutchinson, and Ferrari all made 34 pars through the three rounds.

"I couldn't be happier for Graham," added Hill. "He was so close last year at the CAA Championship and to come back nearly a year later and win by six is just phenomenal."

UP NEXT
The team will play in the ECU Intercollegiate on March 16-17 in Greenville, N.C. The Pirates will host the tournament at Brook Valley.
