TEE SHOTS
  • Elon will use the same five-man lineup – Wieler, Lewis, Carr, Durham and Yeagley – for the fourth consecutive tournament to open the 2026-27 season. The Phoenix is coming off a sixth-place finish at last week's West Bay Collegiate Invitational, where it shot an 18-under-par 846 (274-293-279).
  • Freshman Will Cherry and sophomore Tanner Berry will make their collegiate debuts this week, competing as individuals. Cherry, a Wilmington native, is Elon's lone freshman, while Berry hails from Cincinnati, Ohio.
  • Elon won the 2025 Elon Phoenix Invitational in record-setting fashion. The Phoenix established program and tournament 54-hole scoring records with a 34-under-par 818 (282-268-268), breaking its previous program mark of 821 from 2021. Durham captured individual medalist honors with a program-record 17-under 196 (70-63-63), while his back-to-back 63s in the final two rounds also set a program 36-hole record of 126.
  • Lewis and Yeagley were named CAA Golfer of the Week following the MBGTI and JT Poston Invitational, respectively. Lewis tied for fifth with a 7-under 209 in Myrtle Beach, while Yeagley tied for fourth in Waynesville with a 10-under 203.
  • Year 14 of the Don Hill era is underway for the Phoenix. Hill, who took over the program in 2013-14, guided Elon to its first Division I conference title in 2025 and has led Elon to four consecutive top-two finishes at the CAA Championship dating back to 2022.
