RICHMOND, Va. – Elon University women's golfer Apple Ngamwong has been named the CAA Co-Women's Golfer of the Week on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 13.
 
A sophomore from Bangkok, Thailand, Ngamwong earned co-medalist honors at the Chris Banister Golf Classic, hosted by Jacksonville State on Oct. 10-12 at the RTJ course at Silver Lakes in Glencoe, Ala. Ngamwong opened the Classic with a one-over par 73 on the first day, then followed with a one-under 71 to move into first place. She recorded her best score of the tournament with a two-under 70 on Tuesday, finishing two strokes under par with a 214.

Ngamwong led the 43-player field in par-4 scoring with an even 4.00 and collected a team-high eight birdies and 40 putts for par over the course of the three-day tournament. Her play helped the Phoenix place second in the team standings with a 35-over 899 and the win marked her fourth career top-5 finish.

The women's team will conclude its fall schedule at the Palmetto Intercollegiate, hosted by College of Charleston at Turtle Point in Kiawah Island, S.C. on Oct. 25-26.
