EDISTO ISLAND, S.C. – Lilli Downer set the Elon women's golf program's 18-hole scoring record with a bogey-free, 6-under-par 65 Tuesday in the final round of the Edisto Island Invitational at The Plantation Course at Edisto.
Downer broke the previous record of 66, shared by Samantha Widmer in the first round of the 2006 Draper Valley Invitational and Tara McFadden in the second round of the 2009 Lady Pirate Intercollegiate. Her 6-under performance also tied the program's single-round scoring record in relation to par, matching Widmer's mark from that same 2006 round.
The record performance lifted Downer 12 places into third on the individual leaderboard at 2-under-par 211. She followed rounds of 70 and 76 Monday with six birdies and 12 pars Tuesday.
Elon concluded its 2026 fall slate with its lowest team round of the tournament, an 11-over-par 295, to finish sixth at 42-over-par 894. The Phoenix posted rounds of 299 and 300 Monday.
High Point claimed the team title after finishing tied with College of Charleston at 3-over-par 855. The Panthers won the tiebreaker with a final-round 286, two strokes better than Charleston's 288.
