RICHMOND, Va. -- The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) announced on Monday, Dec. 27 that senior Brie Perpignan was tabbed the CAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performance against Gardner-Webb. Perpignan is the first Elon player since the 2017-18 season to earn the honor.
 
In Elon's 77-65 win over the Runnin' Bulldogs, Perpignan paced the maroon and gold offense with 18 points in addition to a career-high and conference-best 12 assists for her second double-double of the season and third of her career. The guard also set a new personal best in single-game steals (6).
 
Through 10 games, Perpignan is the only CAA player with double-digit assist performances. Her first game with double-digit assists came on Nov. 18 at Richmond (10).
 
At the national level, Perpignan ranks eighth in the country in assists per game (6.4) and 21^st in total assists (64).
 
The Phoenix will finish its nonconference slate on Thursday, Dec. 30 when it hosts Francis Marion inside Schar Center at 7 p.m.
