RICHMOND, Va. -- The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) announced on Monday, Dec. 27 that senior
Brie Perpignan was tabbed the CAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performance against Gardner-Webb. Perpignan is the first Elon player since the 2017-18 season to earn the honor.
In Elon's 77-65 win over the Runnin' Bulldogs, Perpignan paced the maroon and gold offense with 18 points in addition to a career-high and conference-best 12 assists for her second double-double of the season and third of her career. The guard also set a new personal best in single-game steals (6).
Through 10 games, Perpignan is the only CAA player with double-digit assist performances. Her first game with double-digit assists came on Nov. 18 at Richmond (10).
At the national level, Perpignan ranks eighth in the country in assists per game (6.4) and 21
st in total assists (64).
The Phoenix will finish its nonconference slate on Thursday, Dec. 30 when it hosts Francis Marion inside Schar Center at 7 p.m.
