ELON, N.C.— Elon University women's lacrosse will head to Coastal Carolina to face the Chanticleers on Saturday, March 13 at 2 p.m.

THE SERIES
-Elon leads the overall series against Coastal Carolina, 6-0.
-The Phoenix won the most recent matchup by a two-goal margin on April 28, 2019, 15-13.  
 
ABOUT ELON
-Elon is currently 3-0 on the season, ranking #25 in the most recent Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Coaches poll.
-The Phoenix recorded its third consecutive win on Wednesday, March 10 when it topped Radford, 17-6. The victory marked the first time since 2017 that the Phoenix started its season 3-0.  
-Margaret Stephan totaled a game-best five goals on the night and tied Mae McGlynn for the high in points (6). McGlynn also broke the program record for single-game assists, recording five on the night.
-Reigning Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association and Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week Paulina DiFatta improved her record to 3-0 on the season. The goalie finished the night with five saves.
-Elon is led by eighth-year head coach Josh Hexter.
 
SCOUTING COASTAL CAROLINA
-The Chanticleers are also undefeated in their best start in program history (5-0).
-Coastal Carolina posted a 12-7 win over Davidson last Sunday, March 7. Goalie Claire Martell matched her career-high in saves (11), facing 26 shots, while Monica Manley paced the team in goals (4) in addition to tying Abby Cooper for the game best in draw controls (3).
-The Chanticleers were named the favorite in the 2021 Southern Conference (SoCon) Preseason Lacrosse Coaches Poll, earning 16 points and four first-place votes. Samantha Courtemanche, Emily D'Orsaneo and Sarah Trupp were named preseason all-conference team selections.
-The head coach of the Chanticleers is Kristen Selvage.

The Phoenix returns to Rudd Field on Saturday, March 20 to host Furman at 12 p.m.
