ELON, N.C.-- The Elon University women's lacrosse team will be looking for its fifth win in a row this weekend when it hosts Furman on Saturday, March 20 at noon.

THE SERIES
-This will be the first meeting between the two teams.
-Elon was supposed to face Furman in 2020. However, the season was halted due to COVID-19.
ABOUT ELON
-Elon is currently 4-0 (1-0 CAA) on the season, ranking #25 in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Coaches poll.
-The Phoenix topped Coastal Carolina 16-4 on Saturday, March 13 for the Chanticleers' first loss of the 2021 season.
Sara Bouwman paced both teams in goals (5), matching her career high, while
Gillian Curran followed with four for a new personal best.

Margaret Stephan totaled three caused turnovers and recorded three goals for her third hat trick in four games.

SCOUTING FURMAN
-The Paladins are currently 3-2 on the season, winning the last three matchups against VCU, Gardner-Webb and Liberty.
-Furman outlasted the Rams in its most recent game on March 11, 14-12. Hannah Demis recorded a hat trick in addition to pairs of assists, ground balls, caused turnovers and draw controls. In goal, Meghan Deehan earned the win. She totaled nine saves on the day.
-The head coach of the Paladins is Rachel Shuck Whitten.
