ELON, N.C.— The Elon University women's lacrosse team enters this week ranked 23
rd in the nation, according to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Coaches poll announced on Monday, March 22.
Elon improved to 5-0 on the season last week when it registered a 13-9 win over Furman at Rudd Field, marking the best start for the Phoenix in program history.
Mae McGlynn paced Elon in scoring, totaling four goals on the day, while
Sara Bouwman and
Cate Mackel followed with hat tricks.
Quinn Daly led the Phoenix in the draw circle with six draw controls for a new career high. Daly also posted a game-best two caused turnovers in addition to tying
Meredith Curtin for the team high in ground balls (4).
Other Colonial Athletic Association teams included in the poll were Towson (14), Drexel (20) and James Madison (22).
The maroon and gold will be back in action on Saturday, March 27 when it travels to High Point for a 1 p.m. matchup.
