Apple Ngamwong and
Adel Vadkerti have been named to the All-CAA First and Second Teams, respectively as the Colonial Athletic Association announced its postseason honors on Thursday morning, May 13.
A true freshman from Bangkok, Thailand, Ngamwong finished the spring 2021 season with an average score of 74.00 and a +2.00 score vs. par through five tournaments and 14 rounds played. She recorded three Top-5 finishes during the regular season, starting with an even 216 to finish fourth overall at the Kiawah Island Classic on Feb. 28 - March 2. The conference's top individual finisher at what was billed as the largest collegiate golf tournament in the country, Ngamwong added CAA Women's Golfer of the Week honors on March 3. Ngamwong had her best finish at the Low Country Intercollegiate, carding a one-under par 143 to place third. At the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate on April 5-6, she shot a 13-over 220 to finish fourth in the individual standings and help the Phoenix earn runner-up honors as a team. Ngamwong then placed 10th at the CAA Championship on April 11-13 with a 13-over 229.
Vadkerti, a senior from Komarom, Hungary, averaged a 75.14 with a +3.14 score vs. par in five tournaments and 14 rounds. At the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate, she finished tied for second and two strokes behind the individual champion with a 12-over 228. The effort helped the maroon and gold finish two strokes behind tournament champion Jacksonville State. Vadkerti was Elon's top finisher at the CAA Championship as she shot a two-over 74 in the final round to tie for seventh with an 11-over 227.
James Madison's Kendall Turner was named Golfer of the Year and coach Tommy Baker was selected Coach of the Year. Charleston's Viktoria Hund was the league's Rookie of the Year.
