The All-American scholars are presented by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA), formerly known as the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA). Founded in 1983, the WGCA is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. It was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Fox, Mancuso and Yuenyong are among 1,432 women's golfers from the Division I, II and III ranks to receive the distinction.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.
