PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – Elon University women's golf team moved up one spot into a tie for sixth place following the second round of the Golfweek Fall Challenge on Monday, Sept. 13 at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club.
 
After shooting a 10-over par 294 in the opening round, the Phoenix turned in a four-over 288 on Day Two and is currently tied with Wofford with a 582 (+14). Campbell leads the 20-team field with a six-under par 562, Jacksonville State is second at 571 (+3), and Central Arkansas rounds out the top three teams with a 575 (+7).

"We had a better day today with more birdies, however we struggled to finish," said head coach Chris Dockrill. "Hope to put it all together tomorrow."

HIGHLIGHTS
Adel Vadkerti had one birdie, one bogey and 16 putts for par for another even round of 71. She is still tied for eighth place and is five strokes behind the overall leaders, Central Arkansas' Camila Moreno and Campbell's Anna Nordfors. Lotte Fox and Annabelle Ackroyd both improved, with each carding a one-over 72 through the second 18 holes. The pair find themselves tied for 28th with a plus-four 146. Apple Ngamwong shaved off three strokes from her first day as she recorded a two-over 73. The effort moved her up six spots into a tie for 46th. Andrea Asmundsdottir turned in an 80 on the day and is tied for 66th with a 155.

Ackroyd leads the field in par-3 scoring with an average of 2.60 and Ngamwong is tied for second with a 2.70. Fox leads the team with seven birdies, followed by Vadkerti with six. Ackroyd and Vadkerti have also made 25 putts for par.

UP NEXT
The Challenge concludes with the third and final round on Tuesday. The Phoenix will tee off from the first hole between 8:35-9:15 a.m.
