EDISTO BEACH, S.C. – The Elon University women's golf team tied for the second-lowest round of the week on Tuesday at the Edisto Island Invitational to finish alone in fifth place. College of Charleston hosted the invitational through Tuesday at the 5,980-yard, par-71 Plantation Course at Edisto.
Elon was the only team to break par in the final round, as the Phoenix posted a 2-under 282, one shot higher than the lowest round of the tournament. With a total score of 882 (+30), Elon move up four spots in the team standings to finish fifth. Charleston Southern won the event with a 20-over 872 and host College of Charleston finished second with a 23-over 875.
Annabelle Ackroyd paced Elon in the individual standings, as the senior tied for the low round on Tuesday (67) to move into a tie for ninth place.

Apple Ngamwong also placed in the top 25 of the individual standings.
"It was a great round of golf today," head coach
Chris Dockrill said. "I'm proud of the team for coming back after a poor showing in the second round. It's a great way to finish the fall season."
HIGHLIGHTS
- A 4-under par final round of 67 vaulted Annabelle Ackroyd into a tie for ninth in the individual standings. The 67 was tied for the lowest score of the final round and included five birdies. The senior finished in the top 10 in all four of Elon's fall tournaments (T5, T6, 2, T9).
- Svarin Yuenyong delivered her lowest round of the week on the final day, as an even par score of 71 helped her climb into a tie for 15th place. The senior birdied two of her final five holes and finished the week with a team-high 37 pars. She also ranked No. 2 in the field in par-3 scoring average for the week (2.75).
- Apple Ngamwong improved on her score yesterday by four strokes, as the junior carded a final round 73 to finish tied for 24th. She was one of nine of players in the 90-player field to finish the week with a sub-par scoring average on par-3s (2.92).
- Lotte Fox and Ashley Lafontaine both posted their lowest score of the week in the final round. Fox carded three birdies on her way to shooting 75 and Lafontaine made four birdies to shoot 71.
- As a team, Elon finished the week ranked No. 2 in par-3 scoring average (3.13).
