WINSTON SALEM, N.C. – Seniors delivered a strong showing for the Elon University women's tennis team on Friday at the ITA Carolina Regionals.
In the B1 singles flight,
Shauna Galvin posted a 6-2, 6-1 win over Charlotte's Kelsey Sinclaire to advance to the round of 16. The victory was Galvin's fourth of the fall season. The senior will face Wake Forest's Maryam Ahmad on Saturday.
Olivia Archer recovered after dropping the second set of her round of 16 match in the B2 singles draw against Tiffany Pyritz of Charleston Southern, taking a third-set tiebreaker to win 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (4). The senior will face Wofford's Emily Kahrs at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the quarterfinals.

Julie Ball for Elon's lone doubles victory of the day in the A1 doubles consolation draw. The tandem won a decisive tiebreaker for an 8-7 (5) victory over Amelie Amard and Jill Morse of Queens. The duo lost in the next round to Ellie Murphy and Maggie Pate of Appalachian State.
