ELON, N.C.-- Elon women's lacrosse will host Vanderbilt on Friday, Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. prior to taking on Coastal Carolina on Sunday, Feb. 27 at noon at Rudd Field.

THE SERIES
-The series between the Phoenix and Commodores is tied at one.
-Elon leads the overall series against the Chanticleers, 7-0.
ABOUT ELON
-Elon is currently 0-2 on the season.
-In the Phoenix's last game against No. 8 Duke,
Gillian Curran led Elon with two goals on a team-best four shots (three on goal). Freshman
Chloe Herghelegiu also made her first career start, totaling a team-high three groundballs, while
Mikaela Buoscio tallied a team-high three draw controls.
-The maroon and gold added 10 newcomers to the 2022 roster, including

Sammy Fisher,
Emma Flynn,
Cierra Hopson,
Kailey McKenna,

-The Phoenix were picked to finish fifth in the CAA in the conference preseason poll. Curran was tabbed an all-conference team selection, while Buoscio was named honorable mention.
-The team is led by ninth-year head coach
Josh Hexter.
SCOUTING VANDERBILT
-The Commodores are 2-0 on the season, entering the weekend ranked No. 22 in the country in the latest ILWomen/IWLCA Top 25 poll and No. 17 in the Nike/USA Lacrosse Top 20 poll.
-Vanderbilt defeated No. 12 Notre Dame in its last game on Feb. 19 (14-12). Ellie Hilsabeck led the way with a career-high four goals, while Melissa Hawkins paced the team in both ground balls (4) and caused turnovers (4). For their performance against the Fighting Irish, Hawkins was named the AAC Defensive Player of the Week and Hilsabeck was named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll.
-Vanderbilt tied Temple for second in the American Athletic Conference (AAC) preseason poll. Gabby Fornia was named preseason Attack Player of the Year by the AAC in addition to joining Bri Gross, Hawkins and Maddie Souza on the preseason All-AAC team.
-The head coach on the Commodores is Beth Hewitt.
SCOUTING COASTAL CAROLINA
-The Chanticleers (0-1) fell to Davidson in its season opener on Feb. 19, 8-13. Lauren Cremen paced the Coastal Carolina offense with three goals, while both Abi George and Avery McIlwaine followed with two apiece. Devin Rybacki also recorded her first career goal.
-Coastal Carolina was picked third in the ASUN preseason poll. Avery Whitehead and Hannah Demis were selected to the ASUN Preseason All-Conference team
-The Chanticleers will face Radford before squaring off against the Phoenix on Friday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m.
-Coastal Carolina is led by former Furman head coach Rachel Shuck Whitten.
