ELON, N.C.-- Elon University women's lacrosse will travel to Blacksburg, Va. to face Virginia Tech on Wednesday, March 23 at 4 p.m. before its 1 p.m. matchup against Winthrop on Saturday, March 26 at Rudd Field.

SCOUTING VIRGINIA TECH
-The Hokies enter the game with a 7-4 record, winning two of its past three games.
-Virginia Tech fell to No. 3 Syracuse in its last game on March 19, 17-5. Sarah Lubnow and Whitney Leibler paced the Hokies with two goals apiece. Olivia Vergano also recorded a team-high four draw controls.
-The Hokies were picked to finish eighth in the Atlantic Coast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.
-The head coach of Virginia Tech is Kristen Skiera.
SCOUTING WINTHROP
-The Eagles hold a 1-6 record, with its only win coming against Youngstown State on March 8 (18-14).
-Winthrop fell to Coastal Carolina on March 18, 19-7. Molly Dankowski led the way for the Eagles with three goals and four ground balls, while Claire Witmer followed with two goals. In goal, Molly Hodgson tallied a season-high seven saves.
-Winthrop was tabbed fifth in the Big South preseason poll. Alyssa Angelo and Kimora Bailey were named to the preseason all-conference team in addition to Bailey being selected as the Big South Preseason Defensive Player Of The Year.
-The head coach of the Eagles is Kara Concheck.
