ELON, N.C. - Elon University men's tennis dropped a close match to No. 45 Charlotte, 5-2, on Friday, March 25, at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Daniel Martin led the way for Elon in singles play, defeating Stefanos Savva 7-5, 6-2 in the No. 2 spot. The win was the eighth straight for Martin as he sits at a team-best 9-2 in singles play.
- The combination of Martin and Chung-Han Tsai got the ball rolling in doubles play, making quick work of Coy Simon and Stefanos Savva 6-1 in the No. 1 position. The win moved the duo to a team-best 8-3 this season and marked its third in a row.
 The duo of Kyle Frankel and Ben Zipay clinched the doubles point for the Phoenix, taking down Vasco Prata and Thomas Brown 7-6 (7-4) in a tiebreaker. The win was the fourth of the year for the tandem and marked its fourth victory in five outings.
- Kyle Frankel and Nicholas Condos nearly helped give Elon the win but lost their matches in three sets respectively. Frankel dropped a 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 decision to Thomas Brown in the No. 1 slot, while Condos fell to Abhimanyu Vannedmreddy in a close 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 battle in the No. 5 position.
