ELON, N.C. – Elon University baseball travels to High Point, N.C. this Tuesday, March 29 for a 6 p.m. non-conference game against High Point. The game will be played at Truist Point, home of the High Point Rockers.

THE SERIES
- Elon is ahead in the all-time series, 128-88.
- The teams last met on April 6 last season at Latham Park, with Elon grabbing the 8-7 win.
- Alex Iadisernia homered twice, scored three runs, drove in four more and added a walk in a 2-for-4 outing at the plate. Joe Sprake earned the win to improve to 4-0. He did not allow a run or a hit and issued one walk with one strikeout in 1.2 innings in relief.
- A second game at High Point on April 13 was canceled.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
- HPU earned a 2-1 Big South series win over Winthrop this past weekend.
- The Panthers (9-15, 4-2) edged the Eagles 5-4 in the series opener on Friday, then secured the series victory with a 3-2 final on Saturday. Winthrop avoided the sweep with a 10-9 decision in Sunday's series finale.
- Leading HPU at the plate are Charlie Klingler (.364), Peyton Carr (.310) and Blake Sutton (.257).
- Cole Singsank and Adam Stuart have scored 16 runs each, Carr has driven in a team-high 18 runs and Sutton has drawn 15 walks. Carr and Singsank have both hit three home runs while Javon Fields has stolen nine bases in 11 attempts.
- As a team, the Panthers are hitting .220 with a .323 slugging percentage and a .331 on-base percentage.
- Louis Stallone is expected to get the start for the Panthers tomorrow.
- HPU's pitching staff has recorded a combined 187 strikeouts through 204.2 innings and owns a team ERA of 6.60. Opponents are hitting .294 against them.
- HPU is ranked 26th nationally in double plays (20), 31st in shutouts (2) and 43rd in double plays per game (0.83).
- Teddy Merritt is 17th in the country in games started (6), Everett Vaughan is 36th in saves (4) and Sam Garcia is 38th in strikeout-to-walk ratio (7.00).
- The Panthers received 41 points and were picked to finish eighth in the Big South's Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- Head coach Joey Hammond was hired in June 2021 and is in his first season leading the Panthers.

ABOUT THE PHOENIX
- Elon dropped its CAA opening series to Hofstra two games to one.
- After evening the series with a 6-5 victory on Saturday, the Phoenix fell 15-5 in Sunday's rubber match.
- Iadisernia leads Elon's starters with a .326 batting average. Charlie Granatell is hitting .308 and Luke Stephenson is close behind him at .303.
- Iadisernia, Connor Coolahan and Samuel Frontino have all scored 16 runs while Stephenson has scored 15. Iadisernia has the team-high in RBIs with 25 and Coolahan leads the maroon and gold with 18 walks. Justin Cassella has stolen a team-best 10 bases in 13 attempts.
- The Phoenix is batting .239 as a team with a .381 slugging percentage and a .363 on-base percentage.
- Shea Sprague is expected to get the nod for the Phoenix on Tuesday.
- Elon owns a team ERA of 4.13 with opponents hitting .290. The Phoenix has tallied 202 strikeouts with 51 walks in 207.0 innings.
- The Phoenix ranks second nationally in walks allowed per nine innings (2.22), third in double plays (25), fifth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.96), seventh in double plays per game (1.09), ninth in sacrifice bunts (18) and 23rd in sacrifice flies (14).
- Iadisernia is 15th in the country in sac flies (4), Coolahan is 17th in on-base percentage (.537), and Brian Edgington and Joe Savino are also 17th in games started (6).
