SOUTHPORT, N.C. – Elon University's women's golf posted a second round score of 305 to sit in fourth place following the second day of the 2022 CAA Women's Championship on Saturday, April 16. The tournament is being contested at the Reserve Club at St. James, a 5,998-yard par 72 course.
"We just never got off to a good start today," head coach
Chris Dockrill said. "Unfortunately, I think we played better when the conditions were tougher. Today was the day that you had to shoot a low number to be able to move on the field."
The Phoenix currently sits at 35-over par 311 entering the final round. College of Charleston leads the seven-team field with a 16-over par 592. Delaware is in second place with a 22-over par 598 and UNCW is third with a 26-over par 602.
HIGHLIGHTS
Lotte Fox shot a team-best 74 to move into a tie for 12th place. She made a team-high two birdies and shot a back-nine 35. She is tied with
Annabelle Ackroyd and
Svarin Yuenyong, who shot 78 and 79 today, respectively.
Adel Vadkerti birdied the 18
th hole to cap off a round of 77, which has her in a tie for 26th place. With a score of 76,
Apple Ngamwong improved on her first round score by seven shots and is tied for 29th place.
UP NEXT
The CAA Women's Golf Championship concludes with the final round beginning tomorrow at 8 a.m. The Phoenix will tee off from the first hole between 8-8:50 a.m.
