RICHMOND, Va. – Elon University softball first year Chloe Hatzopoulos was named the Colonial Athletic Association's Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday, April 18.
 
Hatzopoulos helped the Phoenix to a CAA series sweep over Drexel this past weekend, batting .444 (4-for-9) against the Dragons. The Huntersville, N.C., native also added two home runs, four RBI and scored three runs for the Phoenix while also having a 1.111 slugging percentage. Hatzopoulos' two home runs were the difference maker in two of the Phoenix's three wins over the weekend including a go-ahead two-run round tripper in the series finale on Sunday in Elon's 5-4 come-from-behind win.
 
Hatzopoulos becomes the second Phoenix player this season to be recognized as the league's Rookie of the Week joining classmate Taylor Cherry who was honored on March 8.
 
Elon begins a six-game road swing this weekend, April 23-24, as the Phoenix travels to Towson for its second CAA road series of the year.
